Amex & Chase April credit reset, new cards & hotel deals

If you only do one thing after reading this, let it be this: check what credits you have left before April 1.

A bunch of high-value Amex credits reset at the start of next month. Whatever you haven't used is gone. Here's what's on the line:

• $75 Lululemon credit (Platinum)
• $100 Resy dining credit (Platinum)
• Platinum Uber credit and Gold Uber credit
• Entertainment, Walmart+, and more across Amex & Chase

If you're paying annual fees, this is literally your money. Ten minutes of checking could save you a few hundred bucks.

Amex just announced a $300/year ChatGPT Business credit for Business Gold and Business Platinum holders. This one's actually useful. Most people are already paying for ChatGPT anyway.

The catch: ChatGPT Business requires at least 2 seats, so you'd need a coworker or a friend to split it with. At ~$30/seat per month, two seats run about $720/year. The $300 credit covers a nice chunk of that.

My take: If you're already paying for ChatGPT, this is a no-brainer once it goes live. Pay monthly and rotate cards every ~5 months to max the credit. Sign up for updates here.

New Amex business card with a public $1,500 welcome bonus tied to heavy spend. There's reportedly a $2,000 offer floating around too, so check if you're targeted.

Early reviews are lukewarm. The $295 annual fee is hard to justify when comparable cards charge less for similar rewards. The 2% unlimited cash back and 5% on travel are solid, but you can get that without paying $295.

My take: if the sign-up bonus math works for spending you'd already do, consider it. Otherwise, skip it.

• Citi (ThankYou) → Virgin Atlantic: 30% bonus (through April 18)
• Citi (ThankYou) → Avianca LifeMiles: 25% bonus (through April 18)
• Bilt → Wyndham: up to 125% bonus (April 1 only)

These can be really good, but only if you already know what you want to book. Find the flight or hotel first, then check active transfer bonuses on CardStack to see current rates and end dates. Don't transfer points speculatively.

If you've been thinking about the Amex Platinum, now might be the time to look. Personalized offers are going as high as 175,000 MR points after $12K spend in 6 months. That's one of the highest bonuses I've ever seen on this card.

• New cards in the database: Added a wave of cards from your requests: Apple Card, the full Discover lineup (Cash Back, Student, Chrome, Miles, Secured, NHL, and the rest), Indigo, Robinhood Gold, and the Amex Graphite Business Cash Unlimited, all tracked in the app, website, and browser extensions.
• Best Card in Apple Wallet: A Wallet pass that shows your best card by category and stays in sync when your cards change. Rolling out in the iOS app in the next few days.
• Best Card (iOS): “Best Card” is in the bottom nav now, with updated widgets so you can get there in a tap.
• Transfer bonus tracker (web): The active transfer bonuses page is live so you can see what's running bank to partner without digging through blogs. Coming to iOS soon.
